Are You Ready?

Updated: Jan 16

Greetings in the Majestic Name of Jesus!

In preparing to write this letter today, immediately my mind ran to Genesis 11:6, “And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.”

Now I’m sure that most of you are familiar with this passage. This is the story of the tower of Babel where the people wanted to build a city and building whose top reached into heaven. In other words, they were looking to build the world’s first sky scrapper and in so doing, make a name for themselves.

Now although this had never been done before and seemed to be an impossible task, there was one thing that they possessed which this verse emphasizes. They were one. Simply put, they were united in singleness of purpose. This is also the challenge that I want to set before you as well.

As we begin this new year, are you ready to unite together in singleness of purpose. As I’ve already shared with all of the various district presbyteries, we have established and are currently moving forward to accomplish 3 directives. First, is to Grow our Pastors/Ministers. Second, is to Grow our Bench or to raise up a new generation of pastors and ministers. Finally, the last directive is to Grow our Churches. This entails everything from revitalizing our existing churches, down to planting new ones.

Now I know that many would say this is impossible. Many would even say, “We’ve heard that before.” The question that we should be asking isn’t whether it’s possible or has it ever been done, the question we should be asking is, “Are we willing to unite in singleness of purpose to fulfill the great commission of making disciples of all nations?”

As always, may God bless you richly!
