Consistency Over Intensity

Greetings in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
Over the course of my life, up until about 7 years ago, I consistantly worked out. In fact, at one point, I probably had up to or just over a 1000 pounds of olympic wieghts in my downstairs weight room. That’s not including the rack of dumbells I had which went from 5lbs up to 50.
Now with that being said, one of the things that I always focused on was my intensity. In other words, my goal was always to get in and get out. I wasn’t there to fellowship; I wasn’t there to look good or to impress anyone; I was there to workout and push myself as hard as I could.
Recently, however, I’ve discovered something that most of you can probably relate to. My intensity is not what it use to be. Nor is my stamina or strength. In fact, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to realize that the key now for being successful isn’t found in my itensity, it’s found in my consistency.
By the way, I believe this is a principle of God’s kingdom that many fail to comprehend. Again, do you remember what Jesus said in Matthew 24:45? He said, “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made him ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?” He goes on to say that, “it’s that servant whom his lord, when he cometh shall find so doing. Again, faithfulness isn’t found in intensity, it’s found in consistency.
As always, may God bless you richly!
